Aligned Marketplace Raises $20M to Scale its Primary Care Network

Aligned Marketplace has secured an additional $20 million in a Series A round to meet the growing demand for its advanced value-based primary care model in the growing US market.

Venrock, an American venture capital firm, led the extended Series A round. Venrock’s extended Series A round will allow Aligned Marketplace to scale up its national footprint and expand into value-based specialty care networks in the U.S.

Aligned offers an advanced primary care marketplace that helps self-insured employers reduce healthcare costs. Aligned curates independent advanced primary care doctors who operate outside the traditional, volume-driven hospital system and outside traditional insurance networks, so until now, employers could not reach them at scale.

Commenting on the investment, Bob Kocher, Partner at Venrock, said: “Employers continue to struggle with rising healthcare costs and poor access to primary care. Fortunately, better primary care lowers healthcare costs by making people healthier.”

“Aligned Marketplace has built a national network of exceptional primary care providers who are super accessible to patients and deliver on the promise of making people healthier, which also lowers cost for employers and patients,” added Bob Kocher.

Founded in 2023, Aligned Marketplace has raised $31 million in funding to date. Aligned closed its first $8 million Seed investment in April 2024, co-led by A* Capital and Maverick Ventures. In January 2025, Aligned secured an additional $3 million in a Seed round, bringing its total seed funding to $11 million.

Unlike typical direct-care companies that build and own clinics, Aligned Marketplace operates as an aggregator or B2B network. It connects self-insured employers directly to a curated group of independent advanced and direct primary care providers through a single contract.

According to our latest funding database, digital health startups, including value-based care providers, have raised $200 billion in funding to date.

More recently, Karoo Health, a value-based heart care company, raised $16.2 million in Series A funding, co-led by 7wire Ventures and Allumia Ventures.

In another deal, Ilant Health, an AI-powered value-based obesity treatment startup working with employers and health plans to deliver clinical outcomes and reduce the total cost of care, raised $15 million in Series A funding, bringing its total funding to over $22 million to date.
