Dopl Technologies Raises $6.3M Seed Round to Advance its Telerobotic Ultrasound System

Dopl Technologies, a Bothell, Washington-based medical technology startup developing a robotic ultrasound platform, closed a $6.3 million seed round, bringing its total funding to date to more than $8 million.

SpringTide Ventures led the investment round with participation from WRF Capital, Tacoma Venture Fund (pre-seed lead), HeartX, Transform Health Ventures, Precursor Ventures, and additional early-stage institutional investors.

Dopl Technologies, founded in 2022, leverages robotics, AI, and remote clinical expertise to bring high-quality diagnostic ultrasound to patients who need it most — regardless of where they live.

With the new funding, Dopl will pursue FDA clearance for its product ecosystem, which includes Traverse, a remote robotic ultrasound system; Dopl Connect, a secure connectivity and data platform; and SonoFlex, a distributed clinical workforce and workflow management solution.

The distributed care platform will enable sonographers to remotely perform diagnostic ultrasound exams for patients on demand across multiple sites, often in rural communities where access to specialized care has been historically limited.

“Our outstanding team is energized and now capitalized to move quickly through the regulatory process to deliver reliable, remote robotic ultrasound to patients who today must often travel hours to receive essential care,” said Ryan James, PhD, CEO and Co-founder of Dopl Technologies. “This is a critical step toward providing specialty care, anywhere, through telerobotic and autonomous care delivery, bridging the healthcare divide that affects tens of millions of people in the United States alone.”
