Forus has raised $150 million in a Series C round at a $3 billion valuation, tripling its valuation just months after announcing its $160 million Series B round.
Including the latest round, Forus has raised more than $300 million in VC funding to date.
Based in New York, Forus is developing AI agents to automate healthcare workflows. Integrated directly in provider workflows, its AI agents manage everything between a clinical decision and a patient starting treatment, navigating insurance, financial assistance, and supply chain across every drug, payer, and pharmacy in the country, free for providers and patients.
Each AI agent works like a case manager, reasoning through the patient’s medical history, insurance coverage, and financial situation to determine what needs to happen next, drawing on clinical models, specialized sub-agents, and what Forus has learned from millions of cases.
Forus says it is currently supporting millions of people and is now used by providers across all 50 states to treat patients in 85% of U.S. residential ZIP codes.
Commenting on the investment, Kevin Zhang, General Partner at Bain Capital Ventures, said: “Forus is becoming how new medicine reaches people in America. We have backed the company since its seed, and in that time the largest companies in medicine have turned to it to bring their newest medicines to patients. The next era of medicine will run on the AI-powered network Forus is building.”
Digital health startups have bagged $20+ billion in VC funding so far this year. The investment activity was led by AI-powered startups.
More recently, Ethermed, a healthcare technology startup building AI-driven automation for prior authorization and medical-necessity workflows, raised $8.5 million in Series A funding to expand its enterprise platform and scale its growing network of health-system partners. Including the latest funding round, Ethermed has raised over $15 million in funding to date. The startup previously secured a $6.5 million seed round.
In another deal, Pearl Health raised $110 million in fresh funding led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) with participation from Viking Global Investors, AlleyCorp, Ulysses Capital, and a debt facility led by Trinity Capital.
