Function Health Secures $450M Funding Round to Expand Its At-Home Health and Wellness Tests

Function Health, a provider of membership-based personalized health and wellness tests, announced the closing of a $450 million new growth funding round from General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund.

This fresh influx of capital comes just eight months after Function Health closed its $298 million Series B round.

The fresh investment round underscores conviction in Function’s vision to fundamentally change how people take ownership of their health.

Since early beta launch in 2023, Function has defined a new category by bringing lab testing, imaging, and personalized intelligence into a single platform designed for lifelong health.

Including the latest growth funding round, the Austin-based startup Function Health has now raised more than $800 million since it launched in 2023.

Commenting on the funding, Jonathan Swerdlin, co-founder and CEO of Function, said: “Our mission is simple: enable you to live 100 healthy years. Everyone deserves to feel their best and avoid suffering. Every dollar invested in Function is a vote for one hundred healthy years for eight billion people. This growth financing allows us to pull the inevitable and optimistic future of health into the present.”

The membership starts at $365 per year, offers access to 160+ lab tests – including biannual testing – and starts at just $365/year, or $1 per day, and covers the heart, hormones, thyroid, liver, kidneys, heavy metal exposures, nutrient levels, inflammation, potential cancer signals, and more. Each member’s lab test results are integrated into their personal app designed for personalized informed decision-making.
