GenHealth.ai Raises $16.5M Series A Round

GenHealth.ai, a healthcare AI startup building AI agents to automate routine medical back-office operations, has raised $16.5 million in Series A funding, bringing its total VC funding to date to $30 million.

Flare Capital Partners led the investment round, with participation from new investors Eniac Ventures, InHealth Ventures, Epsilon Health Investors, and ARTIS, and follow-on investment from existing investors Craft Ventures and Obvious Ventures.

Why it matters

The fresh capital comes as healthcare providers grapple with massive administrative bottlenecks. The United States currently spends an estimated $1 trillion annually on healthcare administration, and most of that administration work is still done manually by clicking through systems that do not talk to each other.

GenHealth was founded in 2023 by Sahu and Ethan Siegel to tackle these healthcare administration and interoperability issues. According to GenHealth, its AI agents are built on its Large Medical Model, a foundation model trained on the coded claims and clinical histories of more than 140 million patients. These AI agents integrate with existing healthcare systems, connect to those systems, and carry the work through to completion, closing the care interoperability gap.

Jack Bachman, CEO and Owner of Piedmont Medical Solutions, said: “By leveraging AI to make the process faster and easier, they’ve automated more work with better results than our previous outsourced team, which was five times their size. As a true partner that does not use offshore billing workers, they catch problems sooner and offer a level of transparency we never had before.”

GenHealth plans to use the funding to grow its engineering and go-to-market teams, extend its agents into additional workflows for provider groups and health plans, and continue improving the model underneath them. The company has grown to more than 20 employees since its seed round and is hiring across engineering, operations, and go-to-market.

Digital Health Funding Activity in 2026

Digital health startups have bagged $20+ billion in VC funding so far this year. The investment activity was led by AI-powered startups.

More recently, Forus has raised $150 million in a Series C round at a $3 billion valuation to develop AI agents to streamline healthcare workflows.

In another deal,  Ethermed, a healthcare technology startup building AI-driven automation for prior authorization and medical-necessity workflows, raised $8.5 million in Series A funding to expand its enterprise platform and scale its growing network of health-system partners.
