Hinge Health, a digital musculoskeletal care company, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Cylinder Health (formerly Vivante Health), a virtual-first digestive healthcare startup, for $105 million in cash consideration.
Cylinder Health has raised approximately $47 million in VC funding to date. The digital digestive health startup was backed by Mercato Partners, Health Catalyst Capital, 7wireVentures, Intermountain Ventures, Distributed Ventures, Human Capital, and SemperVirens.
This acquisition price reveals that Cylinder Health was acquired for more than 2x the VC funding it raised.
With this acquisition, Hinge Health plans to launch an integrated Gastrointestinal Care Program in 2027.
Hinge Health revenue rose 53% year-over-year to $212.8 million compared to revenue of $139.1 million in Q2 2025, according to its financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026.

After spending time with Terry Boch and the Cylinder team, it’s clear that Cylinder gives us a running start in a category with significant unmet need.”
GI conditions affect roughly one in four U.S. adults and drive $135 billion in annual medical spend, yet care remains fragmented and difficult to access. Symptoms can be ongoing and disruptive, and 69% of U.S. counties lack a gastroenterologist. As a result, people often cycle through primary and urgent care visits without a clear treatment plan.
Since its inception, Cylinder Health has treated over 150,000 people in the U.S. with digestive health issues.
