Metriport Raises $26M to Build Open-Source Health Information Exchange Platform

Metriport has raised $26 million in new funding to build the point-of-care open-source next-generation health information exchange platform for leading healthcare organizations, including Amazon One Medical, Sollis Health, and Color Health.

TJ Parker, general partner at Matrix, led the investment round with participation from ARTIS and Y Combinator.

Founded in 2022, Metriport has secured a total of $28.4 million in funding to date. Metriport plans to use the latest funding to scale its platform and expand its AI/machine learning and agentic capabilities while continuing its focus on engineering rigor and customer value.

Metriport is building an open-source data infrastructure platform that gives clinicians a secure, comprehensive picture of their patients’ health history and what’s most relevant in the moment, right at the point of care.

Dr. Scott Braunstein, Chief Medical Officer at Sollis Health, said: “As an independently operating medical facility, we didn’t have access to all of the patients’ outside records, whether they be in the hospital or outpatient medical provider networks. That meant repeating tests we couldn’t confirm had already been done, or sometimes sending a patient to the hospital simply because we didn’t have their history in front of us.”

“For example, we had a patient come in with upper abdominal pain who remembered having an endoscopy years earlier, but couldn’t recall the findings or which doctor had done it. Through Metriport, we found the exact operative report, showing an early ulcer. We were able to start treatment immediately, without ordering a new CT scan or waiting on records that might never have arrived in time. Having that kind of access, and being able to search it directly, has completely changed the level of care we’re able to provide.”

Metriport is the first AI-powered digital health startup in 2026 to secure VC funding to build an open-source health information exchange platform.

Digital health startups have secured more than $20 billion in funding so far this year. More recently, Onos Health has secured a $17 million Series A funding round to accelerate the commercialization of its AI-powered actionable behavioral health clinical intelligence platform, with leading U.S. health plans, including Aetna.

In another deal, OmicsBank has raised $2.25 million in seed funding from Redesign Health to build next-generation clinical data infrastructure.
