Norbert Health has raised $14 million in Series A to build and roll out its autonomous robot nurse for skilled nursing facilities across the United States.
The Series A round, which brings the company’s total funding to date to $19 million, was led by William A. Marino and the Cardinal Group, with backing from Exor Seeds, CareIT, and notable tech founders including Alexis Le-Quoc, Olivier Pomel, Saeju Jeong, and Thomas Clozel.
Norbert Health is developing autonomous nursing robots that handle routine clinical tasks such as patient rounds, vital-sign monitoring, assessments, patient requests, and EHR documentation. Norbert says its robots make routine rounds, capture vitals without contact, run assessments, handle patient requests, and document every encounter into the EHR.
Robots can already walk, navigate, and carry; but care requires clinical and care related skills, and Norbert supplies the clinical brain and voice that turns a mobile robot into a working member of the care team.
What is next
Norbert Health said fresh funds will help deepen the clinical skill library, advance regulatory clearances, and expand deployments across skilled nursing and into new care settings. Current development areas include post-fall neurological evaluations, pressure injury prevention protocols, cognitive screening, and fall risk reassessment, each shipping on top of the existing installed base.

Medtech startups, developing autonomous assistant robots have raised billions of dollars so far this year.
More recently, Scopia Surgical, a medical technology startup developing real-time AI-powered surgical navigation software, Scopia Surgical Navigation, for minimally invasive and robotic surgery, has closed a $2.65 million pre-seed round.
In another deal, SquareMind, a France-based robotics startup developing AI-powered dermatology solutions to make high-quality skin exams more efficient and accessible, raised $18 million in a pre-Series A funding round.
