Japanese OMRON Healthcare, a global leader in blood pressure monitors, announced the acquisition of Calomeal, an AI-powered nutrition and health management app.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Calomeal is a popular health and nutrition tracking app developed by Life Log Technology. The app is used by more than 6.7 million people in Japan.
OMRON Healthcare is a global leader in home blood pressure monitors. They have sold over 400 million units worldwide.
“This latest acquisition represents an important step in making digital health a more integrated part of everyday life, while continuing to expand our digital health business,” said Ayumu Okada, President and CEO, OMRON Healthcare.
Shigeyuki Tanahashi, Co-Founder and CEO of Life Log Technology, said: “Calomeal was born from my own experience of managing a chronic health condition and a desire to help people better understand their health through data.”
