Teal Health has raised $22 million in Series A funding to expand its telehealth-powered, at-home cancer screening platform across the U.S.
Including the Series A round, Teal Health has raised $45 million in funding to date. .406 Ventures led the Series A investment round with follow-on investment from Emerson Collective (managed by Yosemite), Forerunner, Serena Ventures, and new investor MPower Partners.
Kara Egan, CEO and Co-Founder of Teal Health, in an official funding announcement said: “We designed Teal for all women, whether they are behind on their screening or coming due. Screening is just too difficult today, whether that is finding an appointment, the time in your day to attend, or the physical discomfort. Women need an accurate, trusted alternative that makes it easy to screen. It’s clear this option is preferred by women and now we can ensure everyone has a way to stay healthy. This funding allows us to scale to meet the demand of patients and providers.”
Teal Health sells an FDA-authorized at-home cervical cancer screening test collection kit that lets women screen themselves for cervical cancer without having to visit a doctor’s office or undergo an uncomfortable speculum exam.
Teal Health has not publicly disclosed its revenue figures. The $22 million Series A funding the startup just raised is explicitly being used as growth capital to build out its manufacturing capacity, expand its team, and establish distribution partnerships across the U.S.
How much does Teal’s at-home screening cost?
With in-network insurance, the Teal Wand costs $99. Without insurance, the cash pay price is $249. Both prices include everything: the Teal Wand kit, virtual provider visits, lab processing, results, and follow-up support. There are no additional fees, subscription requirements, or follow-up payments.
Teal Health has screened thousands of women to date. The startup expects a massive influx of customers when the federal insurance mandate goes live in January 2027. Kathryn Taylor Reddy, Partner at .406 Ventures, said: “Patients are demanding more convenient ways to access healthcare, and Teal has proven that convenience doesn’t have to come at the expense of accuracy. “With insurance coverage expanding in 2027, Teal Health is positioned to transform how millions of women receive essential preventive healthcare.”
