Throne Science Raises $10M to Track Gut Health & Wellness from the Toilet

Throne Science, a maker of an AI-powered smart toilet sensor that tracks gut health, hydration, and urinary function automatically with every flush, raised $10 million in a Series A round led by Will Ventures.

Will Ventures led the investment round with participation from Emerson Collective, Workshop, LEAD VC, Salt VC, Accomplice, Moxxie, Ventures Together, Symphony, Felix Capital, Cosmic Venture Partners, Offscript, V1.VC, and Morrison Seger.

Throne was founded in 2023 and launched its smart toilet sensor to consumers in March of 2026. The Throne discreet sensor attaches to any standard toilet and, combined with the company’s AI-powered companion app, surfaces continuous patterns in digestive health, hydration status, and urinary function every day. The data accumulates passively and presents itself as accessible, actionable observations rather than clinical readings.

Earlier in July, Throne launched the beta version of its Gut Health AI coach, a new feature that enables users to ask questions about their gut health data and receive personalized feedback.

With the new funds, Throne will seek to expand its team and advance R&D efforts for the next generation of the device, which the founders aim to transition into an early detector for colon cancer, America’s second deadliest cancer, and other potentially life-threatening conditions.

“We live in an age where tracking steps, heart rate, sleep, and recovery has become the norm, and yet we disregard the vital insights that come with our bowel movements,” said Throne CEO and founder, Scott Hickle. “Throne is building a platform that will not only provide valuable data about gut health and hydration, but in future iterations of the technology, will also sound alarms regarding more serious health conditions. This raise is an important stepping stone to build the infrastructure we need to get to the next level.”
